Animal lovers headed for their Pembrokeshire cottage holidays over the coming months will be delighted to learn that a popular zoo in the county has welcomed some playful new arrivals.

A large group of Humboldt penguins are bedding into their new surroundings – a £500,000 enclosure complete with a nursery, beach, saltwater pool and play area with plants and rocks – at Folly Farm, near Kilgetty, and visitors will be able to see them within the next few months.

The new warm-climate penguins have been introduced to the popular Pembrokeshire attraction as part of a European Endangered Species Breeding Programme and keepers hope the new facilities will prove ideal conditions for breeding.

Come and check out the zoo whilst enjoying a break in this sensational part of the UK, a region with beautiful countryside and brilliant beaches, which helps attract thousands of holidaymakers throughout the year.
