A new 10-pin bowling alley has opened in Carmarthen, one which is sure to prove hugely popular with both locals and tourists alike.
Called Xcel Bowl, the new 12-lane facility is also home to a cafe and a play and games area – a great way to keep all members of the family entertained during holidays in South Wales. On the site of a former factory in Johnstown, the facility was developed by Towy Community Church thanks to funding from the county council, Welsh Government and Big Lottery.
Speaking about the project, Carmarthenshire Council chief executive Mark James said that it can only be good for the town, cementing its status as the regional hub for shopping and leisure; it has already been attracting people from as far as Aberystwyth, Haverfordwest and Swansea.
If you are looking forward to discovering Carmarthen during your Wales cottage holidays, be sure to add a visit to the town's new bowling alley into your itinerary.
