Excitement mounts for Saundersfoot NYDS

The annual Saundersfoot New Year’s Day swim is set to be even bigger and better this year as the seaside resort look to welcome in 2014 with their 30th New Year’s Day dip. Anticipation has already been heightened as the community has unveiled a large projection advertising the event.

The event that is to take place at 12.30pm on Saundersfoot Beach attracts a huge number of local residents and those staying in nearby Saundersfoot holiday cottages every year. Having raised over £400,000 for charities throughout its time, the event is both fun and for a worthy cause.

The New Year’s Day Swim saw a brilliant 1,700 swimmers last year, and when that figure is compared to the 17 it saw on its first swim in 1984, it is clear that its reputation has steadily gained momentum over the years.
