Celebrity chef Stephen Terry has been confirmed for June’s Milford Fish Festival, an event that looks to satisfy demand after Pembrokeshire Fish Week sadly had to be cancelled. Terry is not the only famous face set to make an appearance at the event, as well-known local artist Dorian Spencer Davies is also due to be a part of the festival’s proceedings.
Pembrokeshire Fish Week attracted many visitors last year and proved a positive event for local businesses and Pembrokeshire cottage accommodation, however, as reported in this article, it had to be cancelled due to the ill-health of one of the event’s key organisers.
The Port of Milford Haven has since come in with a replacement festival that will hopefully attract just as many visitors. The festival is taking place on the 27th June and is reported to be family focused, with child-friendly events taking place throughout the day.
“We continue to promote Welsh fish”
In speaking of the cancelled Pembrokeshire Fish Week in this article, Terry said, “It is important that we continue to promote Welsh fish and our local produce and I look forward to the event being back on the calendar next year.” He also expressed his delight in being invited to Milford Fish Festival, as did Davies, who said he would be looking forward to creating “a unique piece of art” for the event.
Being in close proximity to Tenby and other popular coastal holiday destinations in Pembrokeshire, Milford Fish Festival is sure to be attended by visiting families looking to gain a taste for local produce. Chief executive of the Port of Milford Haven, Alec Don, said that “plans are well underway” with the docks undergoing a transformation in the process.
