Pembrokeshire and the Welsh seaside are the perfect summer holiday destinations for you and your family. August is full of events to keep the little ones happy and also pique your cultural interests.
What’s better is so much of what is happening this month is just steps from your holiday property in Tenby, Saundersfoot or Pembrokeshire.
Here are some highlights for your diary:
Pembrokeshire County Show
Starting on 18 August, the county shows off its best with the annual Pembrokeshire County Show. In the fields and rolling hills of Haverfordwest, the show brings together local farmers and livestock. There is horse jumping, great local food and drink, monster trucks and more.
The event lasts through to the Saturday. Whether attending for the vintage cars and tractors or for the dog show, the county show is a great way to enjoy what Wales has to offer.
The Edge Festival in Solva
A few years back, a group wanted to get their friends and families together to enjoy the Welsh summer in northern Pembrokeshire. Well, that idea came to fruition last year, and the party continues with the second Edge Festival in Solva.
From 21-24 August, there will be a celebration open to everyone. Visitors can enjoy the music, sport and food, while taking time to enjoy local artists. There will be a pop-up cinema, cooking demonstrations and market stalls.
Aberjazz
To close out the month, people can celebrate the August Bank Holiday with jazz music in Fishguard. The five-day Aberjazz festival will provide daily performances and workshops. Events are being held at venues throughout Fishguard and promise to help visitors sing, play, dance and enjoy the jazz and blues. Events are held in halls, pubs and open spaces. It’s a must for music lovers.
Most events are free, but there are some events that will need tickets. Please visit the festival website for more information.
