Reviews

This house is ‘faded elegance’ but is charming. The setting is outstanding with fabulous views and easy access to stunning beaches. The pool was a huge success with all 3 generations of family. If you want somewhere really ‘smart’ this isn’t for you, but if you are active and in a large group this place ticks lots of boxes.

Dr H,

A large house that met the needs of our family holiday of 15 . There was plenty of seating and the kitchen is well equipped for the needs of a large group. We cooked every meal there with no issues . The pool was disappointing as it was too cold to enjoy . This was the reason we booked this house so if this is the only reason your booking it have that in mind. The location and views from the house were absolutely stunning and access to coastal walks right on the door step .

Mrs T,

We recently enjoyed a delightful week at Penmaen House, a large charming house that provided a wonderful holiday for our three-generation family. The location is idyllic, a setting that offers a perfect balance of relaxation and outdoor activities. The spaciousness of the cottage was particularly appreciated, allowing everyone to have their own space while still enjoying quality family time together. The cottage is conveniently close to the beach. However, the path to the beach was quite steep and rugged, making it challenging for our youngest family members. As a result we had to drive to a local cove. The cottage was not quite ready when we arrived, which did not create a good first impression, the beds were unmade and there was a sense we were expected to make them! This was an inconvenience as some of the children needed their beds on arrival. There are a few other areas I would suggest require improvement. While the cottage was wonderful for adults, it is not particularly toddler-friendly. The high chair was more suited to a Victorian child! Families with toddlers might want to bring some extra child proofing items. The interior could also benefit from a fresh coat of paint in some areas to brighten up the space. Moreover, we were disappointed to find that the advertised pitch and putt is no longer available. The swimming pool was well used but the plants were large and didn’t create a pleasant environment. Despite these issues, our stay at Penmaen House was thoroughly enjoyable. The charm and comfort of the house, combined with its excellent location, made it a perfect spot for a great multi-generational family holiday.

Mr J,

Super house for our family get-together (age range 3 to 70) plenty of space for eveyone, swimming pool, games, books and spectacular views. The beach walks from the house were great, dogs were worn out!! Everyone had a fantastic time!

Mr H,

Absolutely wonderful holiday home for our family of 14. There was so much for everyone to do in the house so didn’t have to worry about weather. Wonderful gardens and views, and so many lovely walks and places to visit. We would love to come again!!

Mrs G,

Penmaen house is a large old house with lovely views from the grounds . It also benefits from footpath access from the grounds to not only the nearby beach and great beach walks but also to the coast path between Three Cliffs Bay and Oxwich which is a beautiful area.

Mrs H,

We stayed here for my 60th Birthday with a group of friends and we all had a fantastic time , I highly recommend this house and location . So peaceful and gave a very relaxing atmosphere with French Country House vibes plus fantastic views. But if you want some activities there is plenty on offer and a well kept Swimming Pool plus a footpath nearby down to the beach. We would love to return one day again, so pleased to have found this Gem. Karl. All
