Pembrokeshire’s prized attraction Folly Farm has announced that it will be bringing a pride of African lions to the Welsh county this summer. The new feature, the Pride of Pembrokeshire, is to involve the creation of a £500,000 14-foot high lion enclosure in the centre of the zoo.
It is hoped that the introduction of the new pride will help to surpass the record visitor numbers Folly Farm received last year following the launch of its acclaimed Penguin Coast attraction. After taking into account visitor feedback, the zoo is investing hundreds of thousands of pounds into creating an all-new lion attraction to entice even more visitors from local family friendly Pembrokeshire holiday cottages.
The Pride of Pembrokeshire will not only be a great feature for visitors to Folly Farm to experience but will also raise awareness of the zoo’s work with Wildlife Vets International and their big cat projects in the wild. The attraction is set to open just in time for the school summer holidays and is sure to be a huge hit with families visiting Wales this summer.
