Reviews

This was our 3rd time staying at Morgans Retreat. Great accommodation and a very comfortable stay. Great owners who are next door if you need anything. It was spotlessly clean and everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Mr G,

Morgan's Retreat is a lovely homely cottage ideal for a couple and their (small/medium sized) dog. The open plan kitchen/diner and sitting room are well equipped and comfortable with lots of windows to let in the sunlight. There is a small secure courtyard which is a sun trap in the afternoons. The road down to Amroth is not an easy walk with dogs as the lane is fairly narrow and steep in parts but there is plenty of parking if you drive there. Amroth has a large beach when the tide is out with a few places for refreshments; Saundersfoot, Tenby and Narberth are all within a short drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and were grateful for the welcome pack for us and our dog!

Mrs P,

Lovely property, very clean, more spacious than it looks on the photos. Lovely welcome pack including treats for the dogs. Excellent location , amroth a lovely 20 minute walk away through Colby Woods. Will be returning! :)

Ms C,

It is ideal for just two of you with a small dog. You have to drive everywhere along the cost even Amroth unless you are young and fit. It is quiet and a lovely part of the country.

Mrs J,

A very well equipped and comfortable house for two, with a lovely courtyard enclosed patio garden with furniture.. Excellent provision for our two small dogs, a stairgate was very useful to keep the dogs downstairs.. Helpful owners next door were on hand should they be needed. The walk down to Amroth beach was down a rather steep country lane, so better to take the car to get there. Lovely beach and holiday shops and eateries on the beach front. If the weather could be planned it would have been a perfect dogs and owners holiday

Mrs L,

Lovely cottage. Very clean. Home from home with everything one could possibly need. Ideally placed for daily excursions Would stay again

Mrs C,

Good location with parking

Mr C,

Mr R,

Lovely place to stay. Very well equipped - everything you could want. Quiet and peaceful location. Lovely walk through Colby wood to Amroth - time it right and get bus back up the hill.

Mrs D,

Lovely cottage. The owner was very helpful.

Mr T,

Well appointed very pleasant accommodation. Would highly recommend this very nice place

Mrs H,

The cottage was really comfortable and was very well furnished and decorated. The dog was made to feel very welcome, providing a water bowl and treats. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Mrs W,

This was our second visit to Morgan’s Retreat and hopefully it won’t be our last! The accommodation is very clean and very well presented

Mr D,

It was a perfect retreat in a very quiet cul d sac but easy to go to the beach front at Amroth and wisemans bridge

Mr E,

Cottage is small and big at the same time, cozy on dark nights light & airy on warm days, heating, kitchen and facilities are easy to use, Mr & Mrs Harrison are very approachable freindly people, great hosts

Mr F,

Lovely accommodation with very friendly and helpful owners.

Mr J,

Location

Morgan's Retreat is located in the small village of Summerhill.  With Amroth village just 0.8 miles away with its sand and pebble beach.  This is an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway or for exploring Pembrokeshire with miles of coastal path walks.  With 186 miles of coastal footpaths which take you around the Pembrokeshire coastline with stunning views of the landscape.

Amroth is a coastal village, the beach is over half a mile long with rock pools to the Western end.  Dog restrictions do apply from May 1st - 30th September but there is a section which will allow dogs.

The village has numerous places to eat, souvenir shops, public toilets and three pubs for refreshments.

There are lots of places in which to visit during your stay, from Amroth its just a short car journey to Saundersfoot, if you don't fancy taking the coastal path.  Saundersfoot is a little larger than Amroth and again has a fantastic beach, ice cream kiosks, shops and places to eat.

There are abundant supply of historical sites from Pembroke Castle to The Tudor Merchants House in Tenby.  At Bosherston there are lovely walks around the lily ponds with the occasional glimpse of an otter.

There are lots of good restaurants and pubs serving great food, from Michelin Star chef Will Holland's restaurant 'Coast' on Coppet Hall Beach to 'The Mulberry' in Saundersfoot with a good selection on its menu.

Pembrokeshire will provide you with an enjoyable and memorable stay!
