Reviews

Location suited to those who don't mind a 10 minute walk to the centre and beaches. Bungalow is very well kept and comfortable, however it could do with a dishwasher installed.

Mr H,

The cottage was exceptionally clean. No dust anywhere (I looked behind the cupboards & skirting boards!!).Lovely fresh smell on entering.!! Plenty of cupboards and drawers in bedrooms. Kitchen has everything needed for a short stay. The owners left instructions on how to use the equipment - very useful. Lovely spacious lounge, dining room and bedrooms, with plenty of games for children - and adults.

Mrs R,

We liked the comfortable house, which is in a good area to explore the Saundersfoot/ Tenby / wider Pembrokeshire area. The lounge, with three sofas, and adjoining dining area is a good size. In general the kitchen was fine for the six of us, though we found that some of the kitchen equipment provision & quality could have been better. The lawn and patio area is nice to have, and we normally like to use any garden fully where possible. Unfortunately, unpleasant noise levels from the unexpected construction site in the immediately adjacent field (Monday to Friday) was disappointing, and meant that we could not really use the garden for relaxation much at all during construction hours - from early morning to late afternoon.

Mr H,

We found Castle View to be as described, situated on a very peaceful street, in a fab location. Easy to walk into Saundersfoot and equally easy to drive out and around Pembrokeshire. As a family of five, it was brill having really good size bedrooms for each of the children and they loved the breakfast bar in the kitchen. We cooked every night a family meal and enjoyed sitting at the dining table looking out at the garden and countryside. The beds were really comfy and the two bathrooms were easy to use and both had good showers. We would come again!

Mrs H,

The bungalow is well equipped, very comfortable and in a great location with the walk to the beach, shops etc. being less than 10 minutes. There were games and puzzles for the children to enjoy and a large garden for play. The only small criticism we had was the absence of a SMART TV in the lounge but to be fair, we knew this before we booked. The owner was very responsive when we had an unexpected issue with the door key and resolved the problem within the hour.

dr G,

Great place for a multigenerational holiday; in laws appreciated the bungalow and the amount of space we had; well maintained and decorated. So pleased to have two information folders, one for appliances and one for local information (sites of interest, pubs, drs etc) - seems rare after Covid but it's so useful! 3 year old made the most of the garden; we sat out at the table in brief pockets of Oct/Nov sunshine, and borrowed some fishing nets for the beach from the shed. Appreciated the Nintendo Wii (and spare batteries! Hurrah!) as well as the TV, DVDs, cards and toys in the cupboard to supplement those we'd brought with us. There was even a spare plug, as well as spare cleaning materials, and we were able to bake some cakes with the scales and baking tins too, as well have 'proper coffee' in the cafetiere - really did feel this was a very well equipped cottage, more so than others we've stayed in. Very warm and responsive central heating. We didn't need the cot or travel cots/bedding but appreciated that they were there if needed; plenty of storage with wardrobes, drawers and bedside tables in the bedrooms. Only a short walk downhill to the centre of Saundersfoot but too steep/far for the inlaws to walk so we used the car(s) and parked in the harbour and by the community centre. Lots of shops, pubs and restaurants - recommend booking for Sunday lunch. Great sandy beach. There is a little Tesco in town as well as a Spar shop. The bungalow is on a hill, so not affected by the local flooding near Tenby. Great walk at Bosherton Lily Ponds to Broad Haven beach and a visit to Stackpole walled garden cafe, as well as Pendine sands, Tenby (good swimming pool and inflatables sessions for kids!), Dinosaur Park and Laugharne. Only one quibble, and that was the quality of the single beds, where the slats fell out (easily put back in)

Mrs P,

This property is ideal for a family with children and adults. Plenty of games, toys etc for both young and adults.

Mrs a,

Location

Castle View is situated in a quiet area of Saundersfoot and within easy walking distance to the village. Saundersfoot is a great resort for the whole family with fabulous beaches with watersports, a pretty harbour and shops in which to browse.

A short walk from Saundersfoots main beach leads to Coppet beach with 'Coast' restaurant providing a lovely dining experience with top class food and stunning scenery.

Tenby is a short car journey, this Victorian resort is very picturesque with three stunning beaches, the harbour where fishing and sight seeing trips will go out within the Summer months.  There are lots of watersports for the energetic, trips to Caldey Island to see how the monks live, the Lifeboat station, the Tudor Merchants House and Tenby Mueseum on Castle Hill.  Tenby does have lots of good places to eat and drink and is well worth a visit.

There are lots of places to keep the kids amused from Oakwood Theme park providing roller coaster and water rides which will thrill and excite to Folly Farm with its pride of lions and an indoor soft play area.

Annas Welsh Zoo is a great place for the kids to run around and to be inspired.  There are daily talks about the great selection of animals from rhinos, wallabies and meerkats.

Heatherton is unique, as you only pay if you play! There is a range of things to occupy you and the whole family from archery, bumper boats, ko carting, and lots more attractions.

Pembrokeshire is rich in history with lots of castles to explore - Pembroke, Carew and Manorbier to name just a few.  There is also Castell Henylls which is great for the kids.

Pembrokeshire is a great holiday destination.
